Originally from Adelaide's east side, Takara journeyed to Chicago in 2016 to take a shot in the land of opportunity.
After two years of working away setting up her own studio and quietly recording music in her closet, she built up the courage to try the independent route and began releasing her own music through various platforms during 2019.
Amassing a sizable online following during the release of her first EP 'Self Love Club' over the first half of 2019, her subsequent single 'Take Me Home' spent three weeks at #1 on the Triple J unearthed overall charts, and remained at the top of the Dance, Electronic and Pop charts for even longer. Her follow up single "Bitter" debuted alongside it in the top 10 on the same charts where it remained for months.
Recently, Takara has been using her music to help support those leading the fight against COVID-19. She recorded a new song, “Thank You,” to help raise money to support local healthcare workers at Roseland Community Hospital in Chicago. Listen to the song below, and check out her gofundme page if you’d like to donate to the cause! All donations will go straight to those frontline responders, and once you donate, you’ll get a link to download her new song!
